Welcome to the Abyssinian Apostolic Church – Metropolitan Cathedral, located in Louisville, KY. We invite you to join us in praise, prayer and worship as we celebrate our Lord and Savior Yahusha Meschiach (Jesus Christ), and all of the many and abundant blessings He bestows upon us.
The Abyssinian Apostolic Church is a Sacramental + Charismatic (Pentecostal) + Evangelical church promoting the Gospel of Yahusha Meschiach (Jesus Christ), and adhering to and acknowledging the faith and witness of the one, holy, universal, and apostolic church throughout the world.
Our Church is an intricate, inter-woven tapestry of ministry. We believe in, practice and promote the power of prayer, praise, worship and unity within the whole of the Church. We seek to provide a platform of cultural and spiritual relevance and understanding in expressions of praise and worship.
We are an international ministry of the Kingdom of Yahuah Elohim (God), professing and proclaiming faith and salvation through Yahusha Meschiach (Jesus Christ). It is the mission and ministry of this Church to actively seek and restore the lost sheep of the world. We accept all who accept and believe in our Lord and Savior Yahusha Meschiach (Jesus Christ), and fellowship with those who accept and believe on Yahusha Meschiach (Jesus Christ) as their personal Lord and Savior. We join in unity together for one purpose, which is the worship and praise our Lord and Savior Yahusha Meschiach (Jesus Christ).
We are an Apostolic communion of believers in Christ. The Lord Yahusha Meschiach (Jesus Christ) chose twelve men to walk with Him while He was here on earth. These twelve were the first Apostles, who were charged with the care of the Church and the spread of the Gospel. Since that time, the twelve appointed bishops to lead the Church. The bishops of the Church today trace their line of authority in an unbroken chain of Apostolic Succession, which leads back to the original twelve and to our Lord Yahusha Meschiach.
We are a Liturgical body. We actively celebrate the Holy Eucharist; also known as the Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion, and the Divine Liturgy. This bread is His body, and the wine is His blood. When we come to the Lord’s Table to partake of this sacrament, we do so in a careful examination, and as a humble member of His body. The Holy Eucharist should be observed as often as possible.
We are a Charismatic body of believers in Yahusha Meschiach (Jesus Christ). We stand on the Holy Scriptures alone as our rule of faith and practice, understanding that the Ruach Ha’qodesh (Holy Spirit) moves, equips, bestows spiritual gifts and empowers us, just as the believers of 2000 years ago.
We are a Sacramental body. We acknowledge, observe and celebrate the seven (7) sacraments of the one, holy, catholic and apostolic church (Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion, Holy Matrimony, Reconciliation, Extreme Unction/Anointing of the Sick, and Holy Orders)
